Frontispiece illustration from the popular literary magazine, Bungei Kurabu, which was aimed at largely female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. A bijin with a fan is chilling by the window, looking at lotus flowers. This image was published in the "bungei kurabu", one of the popular literary magazines in Meiji (vol. 6, no.10).
