Description :
"View of Suijin Grove and Sekiya Village from Masaki" From the series "100 famouse views of Edo". A unusual view on Mt. Fuji and the Sumida River through the half-circle of a window. This design is among the best known works by Ando Hiroshige. The unusual use of perspective with a large and close object against a detailed landscape should later fascinate and inspire the French impressionists.
