Description :
depicting the interior of a kabuki theater, the actors on the stage in the costumes of characters from several different plays; to the left, Ichikawa Danjuro commands the hanamachi in the Shibaraku costume, while the lively audience itself plays the central role of the composition, signed at left, Ichiyosai Hinashi Toyokuni ga with Toshidama seal, the publisher cartouche below, Noshoya Yasubei (c. 1851-70), and date seal on top margin of each sheet uma-shichi (year of the horse, seventh month), 1858
