Description :
A lovely image by Takashi Ito, one of the designers for Watanabe Shozoburo, who considered him in the "upper league" of Shin Hanga artists along the likes of Kawase Hasui. Takashi was primarily a painter, and the style in which his prints were created looks more like brush stroke paintings than typical Japanese woodblock prints. His prints have a lot of color gradation instead of plain even color areas that are so typical of classical Japasnese ukiyo-e, and this required highly skilled carvers and printers to produce.
