Description :

Rare watercolour painted on silk, to be used as a genga (shita-e, or base sketch) for a woodblock print. I have not seen a woodblock print of this scene so perhaps the publisher Uchida decided not to proceed with its publication. "Kame" artist seal at lower right, along with "亀十兵衛" artist signature. (1) This item is either untitled or the title is unknown. This item is from my personal collection and is not for sale.
