Description :
Offered for sale is a wonderful, pencil signed Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1886-1960), titled A Spring Day, 1927. This print is illustrated at pl. 89 of The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Ogura, Tadao et. al., Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987). It has a red jizuir seal in the left margin, evidencing that Yoshida himself approved of the quality of the print. It also has both a brush signature in the image and a pencil signature in the lower right margin. This print is has very good color and condition, although there is a pinholes (or thumbtack) in the top and bottom corners on the left edge of the paper, and some soiling and creasing in the margins. The image measures approximately 9 ? by 114 ? inches, plus margins.
