Description :
This print shows one of the famous subjects of the shin hanga era: Mt Fuji from Lake Yamanaka. It is a lovely image with sunlight bathing the upper slopes of Mt. Fuji. The image size is approximately 10.25"x15.5". The prints of Koitsu published by Doi are difficult to date. The seals for the carver and printer are Harada-Yokoi, the publisher seal is Doi Hangaten and the print has a 11 mm circular watermark in the upper right hand corner. The print was originally produced in 1936. This copy is probably from the period 1956-62. The circular watermark is typically seen on what have been identified as older prints. I obtained the print in what may (or may not) have been its original presentation folder. The only condition issue is a printers crease in the top margin which is visible in the scan.
