Description :
Artist: Shunho (?) Series: Publisher Baba Seizando Title or Subject: Souemon-cho, Osaka Signature or Seal: Signature, publisher seal Date or Circa: 1938 Paper Size: 16 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches Impression/Color/Condition: Good/Good/Good Description: Good state From Tosh: As for Baba Seizando (馬場静山堂), this printing company was active from 1945 at least up to 1985/11 when celebrated its 40th anniversary in Tokyo. If this company could be operated under Baba Nobuhiko (馬場信彦)in Tokyo, I might speculate that Baba Shizuka (馬場 静) could be a preceeding founder (father or relative of Nobuhiko) of the company (probably stating in Kyoto) named after his personal name. He passed away in 1936 at his age of 64 at my comprehensive directroy listing as a carver. Baba Nobuhiko was listed as one of consulting members of Japan Woodblock Carver Association (Nihon Mokuhann Kougei Kumiai-"日本木版工芸組合") as of 1958/04. I will keep detecting more information on this publisher.
