Wednesday, 2 August 2006 Original Japanese woodblock print by the shin hanga artist Ohara Koson. Subject: Three salmon, one jumping high above water splashing around rocks. Publisher: Daikokuya Date: early 20th century. Illustrated in "Crows, Cranes & Camellias". Fine color, impression, condition. Measures 7.5" x 14.25". NOTE: Finely printed with applied gofun (ground oyster shell) to simulate ocean spray.
