Sunday, 25 June 2006 Size of image is approx 18" by 12" This is a very evocative evening or night scene of what is possibly a peasant returning home after a hard days work It is painted by the Japanese artist Takeuchi Keishu who was born in 1861 and died in 1943, and is signed Keishu in the lower right hand corner. It is in good condition apart from a small blue line in the sky which looks as if it was to cover up a light scratch…it is only really noticeable on close inspection…and even then does not amount to much. Sold without the frame or the glass….and without reserve.
