Sunday, 22 February 2009 Title Snow at a Shrine Entrance provenance: Robert O. Muller estate Artist Hasui Kawase 1883-1957 Signature Hasui. Seal Sui. Dated 1929. Publisher Sakai and Kawaguchi. Medium/Technique Woodblock print. Impression Excellent - very good ... Early printing before W.W.II. Lightly embossed. Colors Excellent. Condition Very good ... Slightly creased on the margins. Glue discolorations on the top margin on verso. (To see the backside of this print, please click on the image to the last enlargement.). Description "Shato no Yuki" Steadily falling snow at the entrance of Benten shrine and the pond in Inokashira, Tokyo. Hasui made only sixteen prints for the publisher Kawaguchi and Sakai.
