Description :
KAORU KAWANO TWO GIRLS JAPAN 1916-1955 Original wood block in colors (c. 1955). The image size is 14 3/4"x9 1/4" on 16 1/2"X11 1/4" heavy rice paper, with margins. Signed by the artist with the chopmark in red in the lower right corner of the image. With the publisher's seal in the lower right corner verso. With the artist's name and title verso in pencil. This is a fine impression in very good condition with former hinges at the top. There is a vertical crease at the top right of center that is about 3 1/2" long and about 2 1/2" into the image. The crease is mostly visible in the black area of the print although it crosses the right face also. There are two groups of scratch marks in the upper right margin and lower right margin. NS, 2002
