Description :

Mount Fuji from Takabashi , by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) Hokusai was famous for his prints showing views of Mt. Fuji, such as the Red Fuji and Great Wave prints, and from a young age he created a considerable number of Fuji prints. Takabashi is a bridge crossing the lower reaches of the Sumida River. It was built up on high piles of stones to create a bridge across the river in this low-lying district. Here Hokusai shows Mt. Fuji framed between the bridge piers. Hokusai had yet to master his perspective methods, but it is obvious that he was fascinated by their process.
