Tuesday, 20 January 2009 Andrea Roth [azroth AT rothfineartappraisals.com] Hello: I am a fine art appraiser in the San Francisco Bay Area working for a client who owns the attached woodblock print by Shiro Kasamatsu. My client inherited it from her mother. I am appraising her art collection for insurance coverage and was hoping you might be able to assist me in placing a retail replacement value on it for insurance purposes. I know that values range according to rarity, period and quality of the print. Since I am not an expert in Japanese prints or the work of Kasamatsu, I would greatly appreciate your input. The details of the work are as follows: Seven Birds (unsure of exact title), dated 1955, numbered 91/200, signed lower left, image size 14 1/2 x 9 3/4", paper size 16 1/2 x 11 1/4" Thank you in advance for your help.
