Description :
A pristine, mint condition woodblock print in its original folder with accompanying description by Uchida Art Co., Ltd. Kyoto Handicraft Center, which reads: "This print is an original by Gizan Izuno (1885-1957)of Kyoto who first made a study of the Southern School of Chinese Paintings and later of the Northern School of the Sung and Yuan Dynasties. He is now the only Japanese artist who subscribes to the traditional painting techniques of the Northern School. A world of quiet thinking and the high spiritual rhythm of a landscape naturally expressed on the print - these are the characteristics of the Northern School of Chinese Paintings. The print itself measures 12" X 18". It bears the UCHIDA water mark and seal in the lower margin.
