Saturday, 7 February 2009 Beautiful original woodblock print by noted shin hanga printmaker Ito Takashi. Dates from 1952, and bears the correct circular 6mm seal indicating a true first edition. Signed and sealed with the artist's red seal lower right in the image. Measures about 9.5 x 14.5" image size, plus margins. The print is in very nice condition, I would say. The color and impression excellent. There is a very small amount of faint creasing in the margin which barely goes into the image in the lower left corner, but it is quite minimal. I have never seen this print for sale before; certainly it is not one of the more common Ito images.
