Description :
Japanese Woodblock by Nisaburo Ito 'Arima Hotspring' Nicely done illuminated alleyway scene by Nisaburo Ito (dates not given, but worked for Uchida Publishers in early 1900's). Print's title is "Arima Onsen" (translates as "Arima Hotspring (or Resort)"). Publisher is Uchida Publisher, and print also bears their copyright mark (lower left) and Uchida watermark in right lower margin. Circa 1980's/90's. Nicely printed with delicate "bokashi" shading to the building's various paper "shoji screen" windows and the sky's colors. Print is in excellent condition-no signs of any prior mounts. Image measuring 10 ? x 15 ? inches. Note: "notch" cut into print's lower right corner is known as a "kento cut," and is required to achieve prefect "registration" of the various woodblock's colors during the printing process.
