Saturday, 16 February 2008 Title Snowy Night Christmas card with a woodblock print Artist Koitsu Ishiwata 1897-1987 Signature 'Yoshimi' on the lower left. Dated Ca. 1950s. Medium/Technique Woodblock print. Impression Excellent - very good … Embossed. Colors Excellent - very good … Gofun (white powder) for the snow. Condition Excellent - very good … The top edge of the print is pasted on the card. Description A Christmas card with a woodblock print depicting a village house and a person in straw rain coat in a snowy evening. Note Ishiwata Koitsu's birth name was "Shoichiro", with the first character "Sho" being the same character inside the red round seal.
