Friday, 4 August 2006 Title Meiji Empress on Pleasure Boat Artist Chikanobu Toyohara 1838-1912 Signature Chikanobu Seal Toshidama Dated ca. 1890s Publisher Ohkura Magobei Medium/Technique Woodblock print Impression good Colors very good … silver colored metallic pigment oxidized, burnishing. Condition very good … slightly soiled and trimmed, backed by thin papers. Left Sheet: slightly creased on the upper right area. Middle Sheet: stains on the upper left area. Right Sheet: thin areas on the left edge. Description "Kaika Goyuran no Zu" Meiji Empress and the court ladies are on pleasure boats looking at spring flowers in full bloom. The large red carp in the water are waiting for food. Format 3 Oban tate-e Width Item 28.3 inches = 72.0 cm Height Item 14.0 inches = 35.5 cm
