Triptych: The State Carriage Artist: Chikanobu Format: Oban triptych: each sheet: 14.75" x 10" Subject: The Emperor and Empress of Japan being driven in a state carriage, with a statue of a Phoenix above. Date: c. 1880's Condition: Full size with margins. A small hole at centre left edge of left sheet. Bottom right corner of right sheet repaired. Some creases and soils. Minor marks and flaws. Generally good state. Colour: Fine colors. Impression: Fine impressions with gauffrage, burnishing and metallic pigments.
