Description :
Ono Bakufu, widely considered the greatest 20th c woodblock artist to deal extensively with fish, flourished from the late 1930s through the 1950s, producing scores of superb prints. This print was the cover image of an exhibition catalog for an exhibition of his work at the city museum in Himeji, Japan. It measures roughly 12 x 17 inches and is in fine condition, with small hinges on the back. Not only did the curators think of it as a great print, but the Red Bream (Tai in Japanese) was one of Bakufu`s favorite themes.
