Description :

BAKUFU OHNO Asian persimmons in an octagonal bowl. The celadon bowl contrasts beautifully with the persimmons. I have never seen this image anywhere else. Ohno Bakufu was a Japanese painter and printmaker. He was born in Tokyo, Japan. Over his lifetime he created over seventy designs. His best known piece is the Japanese Fish Picture Collection (Dai Nihon gyorui gashu). Although this is his most famous piece of work, he also created many landscapes and also a number of bird and flower prints (kache-o). He was an honorary member of the Hyogo Prefecture Academy of Fine Arts, and a member of Taiheiyogakai. Details: Artist: Bakufu Ohno (1888-1976) Date: Mid-1900's. Size: 14 1/2" x 9 1/2". Condition: fair…printed on Shishiskaban cardboard, gold edges (portions of the gold edge missing), top edge has been cropped (probably from previous framing), matt line 1" from top and bottom & 1 1/4" from sides, three 1/8 inch spots on left side, soiled, lower right corner is bent (it shows as creases on the back side).
