Asada, Benji- Springtime at Ninnaji Temple- 2- sig.jpg is: Asada Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto This is an original wood block print from the Japanese master and national treasure Asada. This is not a contemporary print or copy. Please read my positive comments. It has the indentations on the back from the pressure being applied to it when printing. Each color is a separate woodblock layered one on top of another. You can almost see the grain of the wood. Many hours were spent carving the wood. The paper is hand made as well. Please see all the detailed photos. The title "Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto"; oban tata-e (14?" x 9?"). Signed "Asada" in Japanese with Uchida (publisher) seal underneath; "UCHIDA" watermark in lower margin near the kento notch. Ca. 1930s. Condition: good to excellent; full margins; deckle edges top, left, and bottom.
