Description :
This print demonstrates the skillful ukiyo-e technique of Jitsubushi (filled background). It requires great talent to fill such a large background with only one color without creating any uneveness. An expert must repeatedly place ink on a woodblock and print until the color becomes dark and even. This unique style distinguishes this print from other colorful bird and flower prints.
