Description :
Kintoki, legendary in Japan for his strength, wrestles with a black bear, the animal he is traditionally associated with. He is also identifiable by the character “kin” displayed on his garments. Kiyomasu (I ) was famous for depicting powerful Kabuki scenes in the aragoto (rough) style. ""Gourd legs"" (the exaggeration of the leg muscles) and ""earthworm lines"" (the curvilinear outline of the figure) convey a sense of power and violent action very characteristic of this artist.
