Description :

Colour woodblock print, one sheet of an oban polyptych. The kabuki actor Bando Mitsugoro III as Minakata Jujibei, standing beneath a maple tree, holding a pair of presentational swords, in the play 'Dekiaki Hachiman matsuri' (alternate reading 'Dekiaki yawata Matsuri') by Katsu Hyozo I (Tsuruya Nanboku IV), performed at the Ichimura-za in the 8th month of 1810. See 1908,0718,0.71 for what appears to be another sheet from this polyptych but published by a different publisher.
