Description :
From the series "Fuzoku Sanjuniso" ("Thirty-two Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women"), "Hot : The Appearance of a Wealthy Housewife in the Bunsei Era (1818 - 1830)". She is getting a treatment of "moxibustion" (burning moxa) on her back. The burning "moxa" stimulates the points where the life-force flow.
