Frontispiece illustration from the popular literary magazine, Bungei Kurabu, which was aimed at largely female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. Here, a scene from the novel, "Yoshino" in Vol.6, No.8, A beauty in Muromachi era hair-style is reading a letter. A priest was depicted in the round inset.
