Description :
Kosaka Gajin reputation in the West rests on the black-and-white prints of the last ten years of his life. He called these prints "intuitive images," and he was interested in conveying an impression of the awesome and power of nature. These prints suggest ink painting and are related to Gajin's early training as a Nihonga (modern Japanese style painting) artist. In these abstract designs in black and white, the artist creates intentionally blurry effects by printing with very black ink on paper dampened more than usual.
