Description :

Seal: Boat Carver: Maeda 'This deceptively simple study of a young boy is the result of literally dozens of studies of the child. First, the pose was developed by trial and error, with a clear eye towards repeating the success of the artist's favorite, Femme Tatouee, by floating a perfectly conceived figure in the center of an endlessly deep space. Jacoulet was simultaneously struggling with the preliminary studies of Jeune Fille de Jaluit, which successfully conquered the same design problem. Kiyoshi is notable for the seven shades of pink used in combination with the pearl-like paper to achieve a delightfully fresh and youthful surface.' - The Prints of Paul Jacoulet, page 101.
