Description :

This print is from a series entitled, A Contest of Magic Scenes, published by Hiranoya Shinzo, in which Kunisada placed actors in mystical/magic scenes from old tales (often the basis of kabuki plays). It is signed seventy-nine year old Toyokuni, which means that this was done in the last year of Kunisada's life. Beautifully framed in cherry-colored wood with silk, acid-free matting and ultraviolet-protective plexiglas.
