Colour woodblock print. Half-length portrait of the kabuki actor Kawarazaki Gonnosuke VII in the role of Kumagai Naozane, in the play 'Ichinotani futaba gunki' (一谷嫩軍記) performed at the Ichimura theatre, Tokyo from the 5th day of the 5th month, 1870 (Meiji 3). One of a group of five kabuki actor portraits in a style imitating photographs.
