Woodblock triptych print, oban tate-e. Scene from the kabuki play 'Kaidan Sumida-gawa', of a sandy shore in front of water with springs, showing the actors Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Odate Sama-no-suke Teruhide sitting on a bell on top of some figures (centre), Ichikawa Kodanji IV as the ghost of Nowake-hime holding a lantern (right), and Bando Shuka as O-Matsu of the Iozaka ferry holding a bamboo shaft (left).
