Scene from the production of Ichi-no-tani at the Kawarazaki theater in the eighth month of Kaei 2 (1849), showing the actors Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as the Minamoto warrior Okabe Rokuyata Tadazumi (left), Ichikawa Gangyoku as Tagobei (centre), and Ichikawa Kodanji IV as the Taira warrior Satsuma no Tami Tadanori; Tagobei flying through the air in front of a mountainous lake.
