Woodblock print, oban yoko-e. Scene from the production of Iro no fumizuki at the Ichimura theater in the sixth month of Kaei 1 (1848) with the actors Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Nanyohei (left), Bando Shuka as the courtesan Miyake of Fuji-ya emerging from a palanquin (centre), and Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Nanpo Jujibei (right).
