"Kinsei Jimbutsu Shi" (The Stories of Today's People) This print was made for the insert no. 5 for Yamato Newspaper. Eto Shinpei (1834 - 1874). He advocated the new judicial system in the Meiji constitution. He had ideologies of the equality and the human rights which were very foreign to the still class-oriented Meiji government officials.
