Description :

"Ueno Shinobazu Daikyoba no Zu" Meiji Emperor, Empress and their attendants are watching the horse racing at the new race track at Shinobazu Pond in Ueno Park. The imaginative fireworks and the decorated boats on the pond add the festive mood to the occasion. (Chikanobu made a very similar design for the same occasion prior to this one - see number 6746 in our archive).
