Description :
From the Sosaku Hanga folio, "Kitsutsuki" (The name means Woodpecker, a metaphorical woodblock print artist chiseling wood little by little). Vol. 1. "Aien Koshumi". The title means something like Tobacco instruments of an avid pipe tobacco smoker. Okuyama stated on this design, "This one express only a part of my love for tobacco, which I smoke for relaxation everyday. I had been thinking to make a design for a decorative and colorful small picture. Then, I received a "P'all, Mall" tobacco in bright red box from my friend. I made a picture because I was very attracted by the color. I, of course, carved it for "Kitsutsuki".
