Description :
"Nishijin no Roji" Colorful lanterns and a small Buddhist shrine decorate a lane at Nishijin district in Kyoto. Nishijin has been producing the elaborate weave called, "Nishijin-ori" for 1200 years. The opulent weaves were made using gold brocade and satin. The Imperial court, the aristocracy, and Noh theater used Nishijin-ori extensively. The costumes made of Nishijin-ori play an indispensable role in creating the graceful stage effects of the Noh stage. .
