Champion sumo wrestler, Hitachiyama Taniemon. He and his rival, Umegatani, established the sumo golden age around 1900-1910. Unlike solid and unassuming Umegatani (#23794), his dare devil sumo style as well as the personal affairs were always popular subjects on the newspapers.
