Description :

Scene from "Sanmon Gosan no Kiri". Kabuki actor, Nakamura Shikan (right) is in the role of Ishikawa Goemon, a famous thief and Ichikawa Kodanji is his arch rival, Kinoshita Tokichi. Goemon was enjoying his pipe smoking and the great scenery from the balcony on top of the temple gate. He noticed a pilgrim coming through the gate and tossed a dagger at him. The pilgrim, actually Tokichi, calmly catches it. They stare at each other briefly. But they do not know other's exact identities. They part without any commotion for now.
