Description :

"Kokon (or kokin) Tokyo Meisho" (The Famous Places of Tokyo, the Past and the Present) Sceneries of Senso-ji Temple at Kinryuzan, Asakusa. Top picture (the past), Furai-mon (Wind and Thunder Gate). The statues of the wind god and the thunder god are placed at the both sides of the gate. From the center of the gate hangs a huge (3.3 meters tall and weighing more than 100 kg.) red paper lantern, with the Chinese characters, "Kaminarimon" written upon it. Bottom picture (the present), San-mon (Mountain Gate). .
