Description :
"Nagato no Kuni, Akamagaseki Genpei Daikassen" The decisive battle between the Heike clan and the Minamoto clan at Dan-no-ura in Nagato (Present day Yamaguchi prefecture. Dan-no-ura Akamagaseki area is in the Kanmon Strait). The fierce Heike general, Noritsune (in the middle: carrying two men as if they were rug-dolls) was in hot pursuit of Minamoto general Yoshitsune. But agile Yoshitsune (upper left) escaped by leaping among eight boats (This was the famous Yoshitsune's "hasso-tobi" episode). Young Emperor Antoku and Nii-no-ama gozen are seen on the phoenix boat on the upper right.
