Description :
"Taisho Shinkasai Mokuhanga-shu" (Woodblock Prints of the Fire and the Earthquake in Taisho Era). From the series of 36 woodblock prints contributed by various artists which recorded the scenery of the Great Kanto Earthquake. This one shows Kyobashi area at the backside of Ginza. The magnitune 7.8 earthquake killed 140,000 people and devastated most of Tokyo in 1923.
